Our purpose
The greatest number of people with disabilities lives in countries belonging to the Third World. There, poverty is the main factor leading todisabilities. On the other hand, 90% of rehabilitation measures are provided in industrialised countries.Rehabilitation services in Africa, Asia and Latin America can only be used by a very limited number of people. Many countries have very limited socialbudgets. Given the fact that people with disabilities receive little support in these countries, development cooperation projects can offer precious support.People in Africa, Asia and Latin America can only be helped effectively, if the type of support is adapted to social and cultural conditions. An uncritical transfer of Western models is not helpful.
Goals
bezev is engaged in many areas in order to provide better living conditions for disabled people in Africa, Asia and Latin America.The organisation is an educational information center halfway between theory and practice. This can especially be stated for the connection between scientific and practical action in the areas supporting people with disabilities in Africa, Asia and Latin America. We aim to establish stronger networks between know-how in pedagogic sciences for people with special needs and development cooperation.
